Jubiläum

This has been a fairly exciting weekend, and it's still just Saturday night. This year is the 40th anniversary of my program, and for this, there is a group of faculty and staff from the Oregon side of the program here, going around seeing all the schools and the beautiful country side. On Thursday, they were in Hohenheim, and I joined them for dinner and wine tasting. directly after which was the Portugal/Germany quarter finals match [which everyone "knew" portugal would win] Germany had two goals within the first 15 minutes, but portugal came back, ending the game at 3:2, Germany's win.

Yesterday was the actual jubilee festival, which took place at an old monastery, it was a nice gathering, and I got to see people from my program I haven't seen since september. A group of us hung out last night and today, walking around the city, renting paddle boats and eating icecream. It felt like the fall again, with all of us looking forward to a year in Germany, but really, we're all getting ready to go home.
