giving blood

i gave blood, see?

it was a somewhat 'exciting' weekend for me here.
on saturday I went for a nice bike ride, thanks to my not noticing that the rear brake quick release was up, so when i went to brake for a turn on a slight down grade, my front responded first, and, among other factors, this resulted in a slight spill, where i landed on my palms and left shoulder. I got up, shook it off, and finished my ride [another 45-60 minutes]. when i got home i had a hard timee picking up my bike, and i was feeling rather exhausted, so i took a short nap, and upon waking, my right arm would only move along with quite a bit of pain. but im getting tired of typing one handed, so to shorten the story, i broke my right radius [compression fracture] right up near the elbow. the boring news is that i probably won't need surgery, so no more metal for now.

I also picked up some multi vitamins the other day, thinking they were chewable, i ate one. when it started fizzing and foaming, thats when i realized they're seltzer tablets, to be put in a glass of water. i guess its always best to read the directions, even for vitamins.

other than that, things have been going well, my flat mates have been very courteous in helping me out, opening jars for me, taking me to the hospital, stuff like that. i also started an ecology project yesterday, or we had the briefing for it any way, i think it will be nice. it's kind of bird watching, especially watching for brooding birds, in the schloss park.

i hope everyone is fairing well.
